Today, March 8, 2022, is International Women’s Day. We’re celebrating this special holiday annually to expand the message of gender equality and to raise appreciation and awareness for the hardships and sacrifices of the woman and to remove any forms of barriers to a woman's capability.
If you’re in the mood to watch and you want to get inspired, here’s the list of movies that empower women characters. This lineup is a movie marathon nobody cannot afford to miss.
Wonder Woman (2017)
If you want an action/fantasy movie, here’s the right one for you. Wonder woman is all about a princess who is persuaded that she can halt the strife that’s seething within the outside world. She battled in war to end all the fights, and she also found her full powers and her destiny.
Little Women (2019)
If you want a romance/drama, you better watch this. This movie is all about women that explore their way through life with an immovability and kindness that was ingrained in them at a youthful age.
Weightlifting Kim Bok-Joo (2016)
This movie is all about a woman who wants to be with her crush. That’s why she enrolled in his clinic that treats patients who want to achieve a slim body. But later on she quit because she’s a weightlifter and she realized that true love is spontaneously coming. She was persuaded to be a gold medal holder and she succeeded.
Moana (2016)
If you are interested in watching an animated movie, you should check this out. This is a self-discovery movie of Moana and she’s with Maui, a once demigod that helps her to be who she is.
All in all, I'm glad that I have discovered these wonderful movies. I became a woman that pursues what I want to be, I became a woman who has a strong mentality and will I became a woman who loves herself first before others.
