Subject: The thought of what could have been

I kept running as soft laughs escaped my lips. I looked back and saw you chasing me along with a little girl by your side.

My darling Sienna. She looks exactly like you. With a temper like yours and a passion like mine. She’s a girl with a big future ahead of her, and we will be the first ones to witness that.

We were a happy family. Spending time at the beach, the sand is tickling our feet as we look at the sea while the sun is going down. Just like we always planned. You, me, and Sienna. Together.

I get to spend my mornings and nights with you two. Sending Sienna off to school with a kiss on her cheek. Spending the night dancing in the living room while jazz music is playing after eating dinner.

In those simplest things, I already feel complete. It’s a shame that these moments don't last forever.

I slowly opened my eyes as a tear rolled down my cheek. I’m lying on the rooftop, feeling the cold of snow wrapping my body. A tired sigh escaped my lips.

How long will I be haunted by that dream?
