President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. responded to Vice President Sara Duterte’s claim, that their alliance had reached the “point of no return,” saying in an ambush interview in Lucena City on Friday, November 30.
Duterte made her remark during a press briefing in Isabela City, Basilan, while distributing relief goods to mark the anniversary of the Office of the Vice President.
“We’ve reached the point of no return, and it’s clear that they are going after me,” Duterte said, referring to the increasing scrutiny of her office’s confidential and intelligence funds.
Furthermore, the tensions began when the House of Representatives raised concerns about the legitimacy of these funds.
In addition to the growing discord, Marcos' “never say never” comment suggested that the rift might still be repaired.
Moreover, political analysts are closely watching the situation, expressing concern over how the fallout will impact governance.
The former allies, once a powerful political duo in the 2022 election, now face an uncertain future.
