Subject: Silent Battles and Coping Mechanisms

She hides her pain behind a smile,

A mask she’s worn for quite a while.

No one sees the way she breaks,

How much more can her heart could take?

A blade in hand, her solace found,

A quiet place with no sight and no sound.

Each crimson line, a hushed plea,

A momentary sense of being free.

She carves the things she cannot say,

Hoping they might fade away.

But every scar upon her skin,

Echoes all she holds within.

If only she could see the light,

Beyond the dark that haunts her nights.

That pain is not the only way,

That she is more than her decay.

But for now, she sits alone,

Tracing wounds she would never shown.

A silent war, those silent fightsβ€”

Still praying she’ll survive the night.
