Subject: Loving someone who's inconsistent yet still holding onto them.
I can't hold you, yet still I'm drawn.
Drawn to you—even if you cause me harm.
One day you're near, then you're gone.
You confuse me, yet your touch feels true.
Every time you push me away,
There's this force that made me believe.
Mystic strings that always made me stay.
But the longer I stayed, the harder it was to leave.
You're a candle who lights my day.
Yet each time I hold you, I falter.
Your flame burns deep, but I don't stray.
For I bear the ache and choose not to shatter.
You're the magnet I try to resist.
Nevertheless, I still yearn.
You're also a gravity I cannot defy.
For you linger and always return.
You were the flame I couldn't outgrow.
A wound I learned to show.
