The Women's Chess Competition concluded on October 10, 2026, bringing player from Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) against Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities with Humanities and Social Sciences (ASSH-HUMSS) in a match to determine the overall Women’s Chess champion.

STEM and ASSH-HUMSS made strong opening moves, with both players developing their pieces into familiar positions. After a long development, ASSH-HUMSS initiated the attack and offered a series of trade offs. The game then progressed to the mid game where knights and bishops had been taken off the board.

The turning point came when ASSH-HUMSS blundered a rook, allowing STEM to capture it without compensation. STEM then coordinated its knight and queen to create a pin involving ASSH-HUMSS’s queen, threatening a potential checkmate. This forced ASSH-HUMSS to capture the attacking rook at the cost of its queen, leaving STEM with a decisive advantage.

STEM capitalized on the advantage and delivered checkmate after ASSH-HUMSS failed to recognize the threat, securing the Women’s Chess championship title.
