"Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio tests positive for Covid-19"

On October 9, 2021, the City’s Mayor Office says that the Presidential daughter and Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has tested positive for Covid-19. She is now in isolation and is reported to have mild symptoms. The family requests full privacy and those who have had close contact with the mayor in the previous 14 days are advised to keep an eye out for COVID symptoms and receive an RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) test.
Meanwhile, his father, President Duterte, stops speculation by the public that his daughter Sara could still be seeking the presidency through substitution by Nov. 15. He also say that "Inday (Sara) is definitely out (of the presidential race)."
Also, Mayor Sara says that she has no plans to withdraw her bid for the local post or request a substitution to run for a national post.
"I am presenting myself to the Dabawenyos for the third and last time of my life as a politician," she added.
