On Saturday, November 13, 2021, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio filed her Certificate Of Candidacy as the Vice Presidential candidate and substitute for Lyle Uy for the Lakas-CMD party for the Eleksyon 2022.
It happened after Lyle Uy withdrew his COC as the Vice Presidential candidate of Lakas-CMD and named Mayor Sara as his substitute.
Mayor Sara was originally running as Davao City mayor but withdrew her COC for reelection on November 9 and resigned from her regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago.
According to Commission on Election, Atty. Charo Munsayac filed the COC of Mayor Sara Duterte on her behalf, 2 days before the deadline for filing of COCs on November 15.
