President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Diosnardo Carlos as the new PNP Chief on November 10, effective November 13, 2021. He will replace Guillermo Eleazer, who will retire on November 13.
Carlos is a member of the PMA "Maringal" Class of 1988. He previously served as the PNP spokesman, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 8 and Directorate for Integrated Police Operations-Visayas and Southern Luzon before being appointed to his current post. He also has a good educational background and is an expert in sky diving, motorcycle riding, and rescue diving.
