NEWS: "Hindi ako aatras," Bongbong Marcos on a petition to disqualify him from presidential race By: Everly Krissa Tejada

 

A petition to cancel Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.'s Certificate of Candidacy (CoC), due to his tax evasion conviction in 1995 was filed on Tuesday.

"Hindi ako natatakot, hindi ako aatras, hindi ako magwi-withdraw. Patuloy ang lahat ng aking gagawin," Marcos said in a radio interview with RMN Palawan.

According to petitioners, Marcos is not eligible to run for any public office due to his failure to file income tax returns that was convicted by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court in 1995.

The petition was filed by political detainees: Fr. Christian Buenafe, Fides Lim, co-chairman of political prisoners' group Kapatid; Ma. Edeliza Hernandez, executive director of the Medical Action Group; Josephine Lascano, Celia Lagman Sevilla, and Roland Vivaldi before the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
