LITERARY: "So this is love?" by: Zoe Alacar

Classification: Poetry

Theme: Love

Synopsis: A poem made for a special someone who fell in love in high school.

I saw my future in your eyes,

Shining as bright as the moonlight.

Just two silly kids,

Who fell in love in plain sight.

What does love feel like?

Is it in the endless conversations until sunrise?

Is it the butterflies you feel in your belly?

The comfort of a stranger’s presence in the midst of difficulties?

Assuring you’re always there after any adversity?

You stayed and never left—

Loved me regardless of every wrong I’ve said.

Treated me like a lady,

And always call me,

“My ecstasy”.

The warmth of your sweet acceptance,

Welcomed me with open arms into your world.

Keeping in mind that I will be alright,

As long as I stand right by your side.

Darling, is this love?

Alternatively, a significant drug;

I may never know,

Because we were just two silly kids—

Who fell in love in the best of our plain sight.
