January 3, Monday, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), for as long as the region is under Alert Level 3, all local government units in the Capital Region have agreed to restrict unvaccinated adults and minors from entering malls, restaurants, and public transportation.
According to MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos, under Alert Level 3 or higher, all Metro Manila mayors have "agreed in principle" that unvaccinated and partially vaccinated people must stay at home except for required trips. Unvaccinated people will also be banned from all indoor and outdoor dining establishments, as well as in hotels and country clubs.
Also, MMDA General Manager Don Artes warned the public that people caught presenting fake vaccination cards shall pay a penalty of 20,000 to 50,000 pesos or a sentence of one to six months in prison, or both, under Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases Law.
He also stated that the MMDA is still working on finalizing the list of further restrictions and that each local government is planning to issue an ordinance.
