Ben’s tied with a golden chain—

Rightful belief, it was a rule.

This was instilled in the universal mind,

to stabilize our nature, to make us less cruel!

“Ben, why are you being good?”

Donated some of your wealth to the poor;

Don't tell me it was for your own good?

To gain double of these, a karma's lure.

“Ben, what holds you from committing a sin?”

Even if you offered your own flesh to those who were hungry,

Your slot would still be in hell—stop acting so clean!

You could not amend this; Your bad karma's fury!

“Ben, surrender this solipsistic belief of yours.”

The world wouldn’t be kind to you even if you behaved.

Tied your character to this rule, highlighted your coarse.

Coaxed everybody because you want to be saved;

This was not what we crave!

Ben, I would never understand you—

You don't want to kill me,

because you don't want me to kill you.

Ben, I pleaded with you to understand me:

Don't kill me because I don't want to be killed!
