Synopsis: A point away from the past of planning and toward the future. It was never the days that told us we were progressing.

Believe it or not, it was the subtle things we soon realized when it was more obvious. Like how we soar rapidly every passing summer, slowly developing the features from the genes of our parents, the sagacious sprouts coming from the seed of wisdom and intellect we planted and watered over time.

The variety of behaviors we used to grasp onto, finger by finger, gradually letting go of that stronghold. From mulish actions, begrudged looks, and adamant minds, we became open little by little to understand what was there to see and suffer.

Blood-related mortals who bore, fed, and sheltered us under the warm roof of a menage, were the first to teach us how things worked and the purpose of it. That was the bare minimum of raising, yet we were thankful for it, and unconsciously owed our whole life to it.

So what comes next? We tried our best inside learning facilities, a camp for enhancing what was already there above—evoking emotions through creativity, honing the intellect fruited from efforts and perception, training, and enhancing the gifted figure.

With the simple use of our adroit palms, we managed to create a variety of gems in different categories.

Other than the possible attainable merits and achievements we could get from the academy, there was this one important thing we should always look out for. From all the opportunities the school can provide, there were always people who strived beyond what they could teach; A gifted or a prodigy.

Aside from literal geniuses, there were also people who try. Try the smallest, the easiest. When the smallest success happened, it made them happy. So they would continue until they could grab the limited opportunity.

It was bittersweet to remember that most of the time, these things are the only reason people pursue them.

Perhaps one was only striving to learn these potentials to feel the happiness they now sought. In contrast to then, when contentment was free, they would receive it even though they never asked for it.

Everyone was busy on their own or inside the corporate building printing copies. From high school, we ascended to a higher level of education. More workload, less time for leisure (unless planned wisely). Getting closer to our dreams, farther from when we planned and visioned.

The past was now all that lingers of who we are, were, and always would be.

As we get closer to who we aspire, the feeling of longing for rapture creeps in; as if a craving. But the older we get, the more we realize that we are advancing in a place where hardship was the reality and bliss was the winning lottery ticket.

Lesser restricted from illegal actions, with higher rates of conviction. If it was only a juvy back then, now it would be worse. One wrong, risky decision and one’s life were automatically over.

It was almost as if life had turned into placing bets. The basis of a decision had a lot of money backing it up. Once you lose it over and over, you would fall into debt; not with cash but rather with a lifelong suffering.

Aside from the rash decision an adult might make, we suddenly remember who we were as children. How vast our aspirations were, and how beautifully we had planned the future.

To us, the childhood we’d now left behind was brimming with freedom, rainbows, and dreams of chocolate. Full of immense talent, timid tales, and constrained experiences. Some of us even believed that as we become older, we would be able to do things that we previously couldn't.

Have all of those promises been kept by this point?

Perhaps, but perhaps not.

It reminded one of how cute and hopeful someone who was once a midget was to carry out earlier aspirations and commitments. Now, albeit still clinging to the past, we were looking forward to the future we had created from the many visions and ambitions we had for most of our lives. We were in a period full of open-minded people.

Life was in fact a gamble, it was true. Thus, make sensible wagers.
