Subject: Balance, good and evil

Grey fur, not quite dark yet not quite light either. Its mother an ethereal delight and the father a midnight prowler. Born with two sides of a coin, its parent’s personalities joined. The grey cat is not at all like its mother as it isn’t its father. Instead, a swirl of uniqueness, born without dullness, not a being who is careless.

It's not quite dark as it is bright. As being one more than the other would be more than vulgar. Lopsided is what it would be. If it was quite as dark as its father, the cat would be mischievous and merciless. Its enemies would go no further as it would have been murderous and perilous. If it was its mother, it’d be too forgiving and naive. It’d have no enemies as the cat would be non-persevering and too much carefree.

To save itself, it was born grey. Null, not quite much dull. Like this, it would not be easily swayed. Not to be good, to be wrong, but simply to live along.

Live along with others, it’d have to make choices. To do the good, one must go through with the bad. Continue to fight, and forgive despite the bruises. Not to be screwed when feeling too sad. Balanced, it must be—a feline who knows to be black or white. In situations it varies, knowing to adapt to do what’s right.

So the grey cat must be grey to not be one of its parents. If it was, it would be too blind to know what’s apparent. It can’t make sight of what to do if it’s blind by the darkness or the light. It must learn how to see, how to feel, how to simply be. Grey, ever dull, ever neutral. Still, it doesn’t mean its parents’ genes will ever be futile.
