Subject: Blooming in Unseen Places
I’ll carry the world—but will you notice?
I am the steady branch, rooted between storms.
The echo in the hallway, soft enough to be ignored.
They call me strong as if my heart isn’t a battlefield.
I adjust like the tides,
Swallowing myself to make room for others.
The eldest gets the compass,
The youngest, the map.
I am the quiet traveler,
Navigating alone by the stars.
Sometimes I wonder
If my silence has made me a ghost.
I fold my needs like paper cranes,
Hide them beneath my pillow,
And pretend that independence feels like freedom,
Not abandonment.
But I am not only longing.
I am a lighthouse in the dark,
A beacon that never asks for light in return.
I stitch love into small things:
A helping hand, a careful smile,
A shadow that never leaves.
Dear family, I hope you are well.
Do you think of me when I am not the one holding things together?
Do you notice the way I disappear
Just to make space for your joy?
I miss you like quiet rain—
Falling softly, yet endlessly.
Yet, I am thankful—
Thankful for the strength this role has carved into me.
Because even when I ache, I bloom.
Even when unnoticed, I love.
Even when I stand alone, I blossom—not for the world to see, but because love has made me whole.
