Lyceum of Alabang students, Abigail Job F. Alla and Reniza P. Manalaysay from Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand bagged “Best Presenter” and “Best Paper” during the 1st Liksik Students Research Conference with the theme “Developing Students’ Research Towards a Sustainable Tomorrow", held on April 3 at the Br. Bonato FSC Center, La Salle Green Hills.

Their study entitled “Implementation of Expert Jigsaw Strategy in Teaching Literature to Selected Grade 11 Students of Tunasan National High School” won under the General Academic Strand (GAS) category with their co-authors Dianna Grace F. Carina, Shanon Colonia, Samantha Kier C. Olazo, and Hannah G. Rondaris.

“I’m very lucky to have the most wonderful groupmates anyone could ever ask for. So luckily the struggles ay mostly because of uncontrollable factors like yung schedules ng mga kailangang tao, the sudden change of schedule dahil sa cancellation of classes, and things like that,” Manalaysay shared their group’s struggles with their research in an interview with The Spiracle.

"This research is our blood, sweat, and tears talaga. From planning until execution ng study talagang naging mahirap and maraming naging struggles, but we made it. We survived naman and we are very happy na nagiging successful na ang lahat," Alla added.

At the same time, Alla expressed her gratitude after receiving their awards “Syempre masaya, I feel like our hard work has been paying off na.”

For them, this is just the start of their journey. They are looking forward to more research conferences and hope that their research paper will be published as well.

They also had a courtesy call with the School President, Dr. Danilo V. Ayap together with the school principal, Engr. Rodrigo Calapan, to greet them with a congratulatory message.
